About
Moving Mississippi Forward is an RFAA Foundation four-year pilot designed to deliver tangible progress in Mississippi by teaming up with organizations, companies, financial institutions, and individuals. Moving Mississippi Forward will create value for Mississippians that have seen generations of hopelessness despite being a part of the wealthiest country in the world. RFAA’s mission is to empower Mississippi households by changing mindsets and providing them with pathways to independence.
Moving Mississippi Forward will launch in the summer of 2023 and end in the summer of 2027. Mississippi currently leads America in poverty, is home to the highest homicide rate among large cities, has the highest prison incarceration rate per capita, and is home to the worst city to live in, according to 247 wallst.com. RFAA (Restoring Families Across America) pilot focuses on solutions to address the fact that lack of opportunities, broken family units, and crime destroys families.
Many people have left Mississippi and never want to return because they saw no hope. Moving Mississippi Forward will ensure each Mississippian has a solid foundation and understands their value, purpose, and abilities. A solid foundation will change their mindset and give them the transferable hope needed to overcome generations of hopelessness. Mississippi will become a destination for its opportunities and no longer the place you want to leave.
Goal
Assist 100,000 Mississippi households with moving ABOVE the poverty line by the summer of 2027.
According to the 2021 U.S. Census, 19.4% of Mississippi households live below the poverty line. Mississippi is the poorest state in America.
Vision
Reduce female and child poverty rates by introducing location-based income opportunities for youth starting at age 12.
Deliverables
Moving Mississippi Forward will deliver the following:
- Reduce Poverty with a holistic approach by changing mindsets
- Start the process of ending generations of hopelessness
- A Safer, More Attractive Mississippi

Expected Outcomes
Based on its primary data, the Department of Education, the U.S. Census, and America’s Health Rankings, RFAA theorizes that Moving Mississippi Forward will inspire a new generation of hopeful Mississippians and create the change needed for the State of Mississippi to thrive.
Moving Mississippi Forward will address quality of life and why it has been absent for decades in Mississippi. Each participant will learn how to become a homeowner, or business owner, earn passive income, promote biblical principles, and become the next generation of leaders for Mississippi.
Strategic Partners
Mississippi Moving Forward’s strategic partners play a specific role in the logistics and success of graduating 100,000 Mississippi households above the poverty line. Each partner has an extensive body of work in its expertise built on years of trials and studies.
O.C.O.A. plans to provide multiple opportunities that will positively affect future generations. O.C.O.A. requires individuals to participate in their projects to have some level of personal investment.
History has demonstrated that those with skin in the game fight harder for a successful outcome. When one is required and rewarded for thinking BIG, greatness will follow.
Pathways To Independence Trade School was created to understand the need to build OVERCOMERS to end generations of hopelessness.
